The Mailingtoad Triggering System allows you to automatically send messages based on a user's actions. Your Trigger can be something as simple as "When user clicks link A, send an email to sales@company.com" or more complex, with a variety of user actions and demographics combined.
A Survey Trigger can be built on two options - a trigger for all completed surveys or for a specific survey. In the Action Options, choose which option you want to build your trigger from. "For any completed surveys" will send a triggered message any time a user completes a survey and hits the "submit" button. Trigger for a "specified" survey will only send an automatic message when a user completes that survey.
"Link" trigger can be based on any link within a given message. Unlike the Survey Trigger, which is based on the survey not the message, the "Link" Trigger is based on a specific link within a specific message. Even if you have the same link in multiple messages, the trigger will only work when the link has been clicked in one specific message.
An "Open" trigger is based on when a user opens a specific message.
A "Join" Trigger is based on when people join your mailing list. A Trigger is only good for the specific mailing list that you are in, and can be assigned to either anyone who joins or to people who join on or after a specific date.
An "Update Profile" Trigger is based on whenever your user updates their profile. The Action Options will set the trigger to work at any time the user updates their profile.
A trigger history is not applied to this event, meaning that the trigger can be sent to the same user more than once.
A "Demographic Value" trigger is based on your user's demographic values. It can be any enabled demographic in your mailing list, and you can choose the value specifically that you want to base the trigger from. For instance, if "Gender" is one of your demographics, you could select a Trigger for Gender: Females. | | |
